Truth or TACO?

Donald Trump sent the soybean market into a mid-morning frenzy with a Truth Social post following a phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Trump said China is considering additional U.S. soybean purchases, potentially lifting 2025/26 commitments to 20 mmt — roughly 735 mbu, up about 295 mbu from the originally referenced 12 mmt (≈440 mbu).

Additionally, he reiterated that China has committed to 25 mmt next year — roughly 920 mbu — committed being the key word there.
