Are we about to make cotton great again? The market is certainly positioned like we are.
Cotton 101
The Who’s Who in the World of Cotton
The United States is still a major player in global cotton — just not in the way it used to be.
The U.S. is the 4th largest cotton producer in the world, accounting for 11.6% of global production at 13.9 million bales in 2025, behind China, India, and Brazil.

Notably, 2023 marked the first year Brazil outproduced the U.S., as expanded soybean acreage was followed by aggressive cotton expansion.

That same year, Brazil also overtook the U.S. as the world’s largest cotton exporter — a position the United States had held for decades.
